The earliest Delahunty that we have photos of (so far).  This is our Great Grandfather, Thomas Lawrence Delahunty, son of Thomas Delahunty of Tipperary.  He was born in Charleston around 1865, but lived his adult life in NJ and NY.  He and his wife had seven children.  He died in 1919 while visiting his widowed mother Bridget Conlon Delahunty in Charleston.  Bridget refused to allow his body to be shipped back to NY to be buried with his late wife.  So now he lies in St. Lawrence Cemetery in Charleston with his parents.

Here he is again.  He was a maritime engineer and also president of the union that shut down NY Harbor in 1919.  I have some poorly preserved news articles to post later.

And here is Catherine Burns Delahunty, our Great Grandmother.  This is the only photo I have of her.  Can you see those big brown eyes that our grandmothers and mothers had?  And I do too.
Kate died in NY in 1916 on her way to play Euchre.  I have a newspaper article on her death which I'll scan and include here.

We know that her father was named Peter Burns and that he lived with his daughter and son-in-law.  He was a widower; has anyone found the name of his wife yet?

Here's Sarah, with Richard Dennis (Genevieve's grandson). Apparently, it's his birthday. This would have been in the early 1950's, and guessing from the wallpaper, I'd say this was in the Dennis home in Westmont NJ.
